Boil the milk in a saucepan, add the polenta, and let it swell for 15 minutes on the turned-off stovetop, stirring occasionally. Then let it cool slightly.

Separate the eggs. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar, vanilla sugar, and butter or margarine until frothy. Fold in the polenta mixture.

Mix the flour with the baking powder and fold into the mixture.

Beat the egg whites until stiff, pour over the polenta mixture and fold in.

Quarter the apple, core it and cut it into thin slices.

Fill the dough into the KeMar KRC 140 (no need to grease it) and top with the apple slices.

Close the lid and bake for 45 minutes using the CAKE function.

Allow the finished cake to cool slightly in the tin and then turn out onto a wire rack and allow to cool.

Then place the cake apple-side up on a serving platter or plate and dust with some powdered sugar.

Depending on your taste, you can also peel the apple or top the cake with pear, plum or almond slivers.

Bon appetit!
