We ensure that our suppliers adhere to socially responsible working conditions. Most of our suppliers are certified according to amfori BSCI. BSCI is a code of conduct developed by leading companies and the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) to create uniform social standards and support the establishment of ethical supply chains. This code includes the following key elements:

Help us conserve resources: Dispose of our products properly at local recycling centers or drop-off points at the end of their useful life to return them to the recycling process.
OUR ECOLOGICAL RESPONSIBILITY
Essential parts of value chains in electronics and kitchen appliance manufacturing involve interventions in the environment. KeMar Kitchenware aims to keep the associated impacts as low as possible.
This includes developing energy-efficient products and using renewable energy. As a family business, we design our products in an environmentally conscious and functional way – from resource-saving material selection to good recyclability at the end of their useful life.
Through eco-design, we consider energy efficiency, recycling requirements, and material restrictions directly in the product creation process. The focus of our development is on reducing consumption and increasing energy efficiency.
We agree with our suppliers on adherence to general environmental standards, the prohibition of particularly environmentally harmful substances, and corresponding declaration obligations. When selecting new suppliers, we examine their environmental measures and their willingness to engage in resource-efficient production.
For our products, we prefer to use reusable, untreated materials, the safety of which we continuously have tested by recognized testing bodies. All products are checked according to the standards of the Food and Feed Code (LFGB).
The following measures have already been implemented or are in ongoing implementation:
1) Packaging and Cardboard

High recycling content: Transition to packaging with a recycling content of at least 80%. This has already been implemented for the following product series: KRC-130, KRC-190, KSB-200, KSB-300, KHF-350, KHF-550, KSM-1000, KSB-100G, KFS-3000, KRC-100, KRC-200, KRC-300, KRC-175, KCC-280, KEM-117, KPO-220, as well as all accessories and our bamboo products. The use of recycled boxes saves approx. 20% water, 50% energy, and reduces air emissions by approx. 60% compared to fresh fiber production.

Printing inks: The printing inks of our packaging are mineral oil-free and are produced based on renewable raw materials.

Plastic reduction: Reduction of plastic packaging and gradual replacement of Styrofoam padding with paper-based alternatives.
2) Energy and Electricity

Green electricity in the warehouse: For our logistics warehouse in Ismaning, we use regionally generated green electricity. This comes 100% from hydropower plants on the Bavarian Inn and is obtained without the use of fossil fuels.

Solar energy in operation: Our mobile devices and batteries are charged with electricity from company-owned solar panels during the summer months, resulting in no direct CO₂ emissions during the charging process on site.
3) Paperless Office

Digitalization: Through the consistent use of digital archiving and communication systems, we have reduced paper printouts by more than 90%. Customer and supplier invoices are processed exclusively digitally as PDFs.

Resource conservation: If a printout is required, we use recycled paper and double-sided printing (duplex).
REUSE CARDBOARD BOXES INSTEAD OF DISCARDING THEM
KeMar Kitchenware specifically acquires shipping boxes with faulty imprints or cutting deviations that would otherwise have been disposed of as waste in the manufacturing process.
The multiple use of shipping boxes significantly improves the energy balance of packaging and avoids unnecessary packaging waste.
By reusing shipping boxes, we save packaging material and reduce waste. The effect is a relief for the environment, along with cost optimization and lower shipping costs for our customers.
EMISSION REDUCTION WITH OUR SHIPPING PARTNERS
EMISSION REDUCTION IN SHIPPING
Package transportation generates emissions that cannot currently be entirely avoided technologically. Therefore, we work with logistics partners who actively implement measures for emission reduction and environmental protection:
DPD: Avoidance and reduction of transport emissions through fleet optimization and logistics efficiency.
Planet Initiative (Shopify): For shipments via this system, the estimated transport footprint is calculated. A portion of the proceeds goes directly to partner companies (such as Carbon Direct) that develop and implement technologies for active carbon removal from the atmosphere.
DHL GoGreen: Package shipping is done via DHL's GoGreen program, where CO₂ emissions generated by transportation are financially offset through verified climate protection projects by the logistics partner. In addition, direct package pickup by the delivery person saves additional travel.
