KeMar has been committed to environmental protection and climate protection for many years. In both product development and production, we continuously work to minimize our impact on the environment and continuously improve its protection.
Our corporate goals include:
- Sustainable production
- Ecological materials
- Socially responsible production
- High recycling rate
At our supplier companies, we also ensure that the people who work there adhere to socially acceptable working conditions. Most of our supplier companies are therefore certified by amfori BSCI . BSCI is a code of conduct developed by leading companies and the Foreign Trade Association (FTA) to create uniform social standards. It is intended to help companies build an ethical supply chain. This code includes the following key elements:
- Management practice
- no questionable employment
- Working hours
- Remuneration
- child labor
- Forced labor (including prison labor and coercive measures)
- Freedom of assembly (including freedom of association and freedom of collective bargaining)
- Discrimination (gender, race, religion)
- Working conditions
- Health and social facilities
- Health and safety at work (occupational safety)
- Aspects of environmental protection
- and special protection for young employees.
Please help us protect our environment and conserve valuable resources. Please dispose of our products properly at the end of their service life and recycle them, thus making your contribution to environmental protection.
OUR ECOLOGICAL RESPONSIBILITY
Significant parts of our value chain involve significant environmental impacts. KeMar Kitchenware strives to minimize these impacts as much as possible.
This includes the development of energy-efficient products and the use of new and renewable energies. As an innovative family business, we are committed to designing our products in a way that is both environmentally conscious and functional – from conserving resources and manufacturing new, innovative products to ensuring that they are easily recyclable at the end of their useful life.
Through environmentally friendly design, we ensure that energy efficiency, recycling requirements, and material restrictions are considered in the product development process. Aspects of reducing consumption and increasing efficiency are a particular focus of our development and innovation efforts.
KeMar Kitchenware continually strives to create innovative product solutions using fewer resources and to transform old electronic devices into usable resources by adhering to high environmental standards in development and production.
We agree with our suppliers to comply with general environmental standards, bans on particularly environmentally harmful substances, and declaration requirements. At the same time, we encourage our suppliers to actively adopt environmental management practices and thus create a sustainable supply chain. When selecting new suppliers, we assess their commitment to environmentally friendly production and the extent of their environmental measures.
We increasingly use recycled, untreated, and therefore environmentally friendly materials for our products, whose safety is continuously tested and assured by accredited testing centers. All products are tested according to the standards and specifications of the German Food and Feed Code (LFGB).
The following measures have already been implemented or will be implemented shortly as sustainability projects:
1) Packaging / Cartons
- Gradual transition to at least 80% recycled cardboard and packaging. This has already been successfully implemented for the following products: recycled cardboard for the KRC-130, KRC-190, KSB-200 series, KSB-300 series, KHF-350, KFH-550, KSM-1000, KSB-100G, KFS-3000, KRC-100, KRC-200, KRC-300, KRC-175, KCC-280, KHF-550, KFS-3000, KEM-117, KPO-220, all accessories, and all bamboo products. By using recycled materials, we save approximately 20% water, 50% energy, and 60% air pollution.
- Packaging printing ink is mineral oil-free and based on renewable raw materials
- Gradually reducing and avoiding plastic packaging and using alternative and sustainable raw materials. Our goal is to continuously eliminate plastic padding such as Styrofoam from our packaging as much as possible.
2) Energy / Electricity:
- We have been using green electricity from 100% renewable sources for our Munich office since 2009. This means our environmental impact is 0 g/kWh in terms of CO2 emissions and 0 g/kWh in terms of radioactive waste.
- For our logistics warehouse in Ismaning, we use regionally generated green electricity. This comes 100 percent from environmentally friendly hydroelectric power plants on the Inn River in Bavaria. It requires no fossil fuels for its production and therefore produces no CO2. More information here .
- Our notebooks, mobile phones and rechargeable batteries are charged by solar energy via solar panels and are therefore CO2 neutral.
3) Paper / Printer
- We've been working on the vision of a "paperless office" for years. Through the continuous use of digital archiving and communication media, we've been able to reduce paper printing by more than 90%. For example, customer invoices are only sent by email, and supplier invoices are only received by email as PDFs.
- Our goal is to reduce our environmental impact and minimize paper usage. If something does need to be printed, we naturally use recycled paper and use energy-saving inkjet printers instead of laser printers. Laser printers consume significantly more power. A laser multifunction device consumes between 300 and 500 watts when printing, although this can be significantly more depending on the model and manufacturer. Especially during the warm-up phase, consumption can reach up to 1,000 watts. That's equivalent to a stovetop on full power. Comparable inkjet printers, in contrast, require only around 25 watts. This is not only a selling point for environmentally conscious companies, but also reduces energy costs by up to 80 percent compared to comparable laser printers. Double-sided printing also reduces paper consumption. Letters and faxes have been successfully converted to email.
REUSE CARDBOARDS INSTEAD OF RECYCLING
KeMar Kitchenware is aware of its environmental responsibility, which is why we deliberately purchase shipping packaging that has faulty printing or cutting errors and is normally "rejected" by shipping box manufacturers.

A shipping box that's reused significantly improves the box's energy footprint (and the company's!) and reduces packaging waste. The effect is a reduction in environmental impact while simultaneously optimizing costs and lowering shipping costs for our customers.
EMISSION REDUCTION WITH OUR SHIPPING PARTNERS
![]()
- DPD transports 3 million parcels every day. Shipping parcels generates a considerable amount of CO2: 90% of emissions are caused by the actual transport. These emissions cannot currently be completely avoided economically. Nevertheless, we want to live up to our responsibility to the environment. You can find further information on this topic here.

- Planet Team for every shipment E-commerce deliveries have a carbon footprint. That's why we support top companies that remove carbon from the air. Together, participating companies have removed more than thousands of tons of carbon from the atmosphere. Achieved carbon-neutral shipping for more than millions of orders. Here's how it works: For every order we receive, a formula is used to calculate estimated shipping emissions. Based on these estimates, a portion of our revenue goes to carbon removal companies, like those from scientists at Carbon Direct . These companies use this money to offset the carbon our shipments have created. Any extra funds go towards further developing carbon removal technologies.
