What should be kept in mind when preparing food in the stainless steel inner pot?

1. Note for those with nickel allergies:The inner pot is made of SUS304 stainless steel (18/8 alloy) with a material-related nickel content of approx. 8%. People with a severe nickel allergy should be aware of this.
2. Natural crust formation:Since the stainless steel inner pot is uncoated, starchy rice forms a light, typical crust on the bottom of the pot. This can be removed after taking out the rice by briefly soaking it in warm water and rinsing it off effortlessly.
3. Preventing foam formation:With very starchy or unwashed rice varieties, starchy foam may escape through the steam vent in the glass lid. Thoroughly washing the rice before cooking effectively minimizes foam formation.

FOR HOW MANY PEOPLE IS THE KRC-100 SUITABLE?

With a 0.6-liter volume, this mini rice cooker is ideally designed for 1 to 3 people. It holds a maximum of 3 measuring cups of uncooked rice, which corresponds to about 3 standard portion sizes depending on the side dish.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A STAINLESS STEEL INNER POT COMPARED TO COATED POTS?

An uncoated SUS304 stainless steel inner pot offers an especially long-lasting and extremely durable surface. There is no synthetic non-stick coating (such as PTFE or PFOA) that could scratch or flake off over time. The material is flavor-neutral, hygienic, and food-safe. Note:To minimize rice sticking to the bottom, it is recommended to wash the rice thoroughly before cooking.

CAN OTHER TYPES OF GRAINS ALSO BE PREPARED IN THE KRC-100?

Yes, in addition to common rice varieties, the KRC-100 is excellent for pseudo-cereals and grains such as quinoa, millet, bulgur, or couscous, as well as for preparing smaller portions of porridge.

HOW IS RICE STICKING TO THE STAINLESS STEEL BOTTOM REDUCED?

Since stainless steel is uncoated, preparation is crucial: wash the rice thoroughly with cold water before the cooking process until the water remains almost clear. This removes excess surface starch and effectively reduces the formation of a light rice crust on the bottom of the pot.

HOW LONG DOES THE KEEP-WARM MODE RUN AFTER THE COOKING PROCESS?

After the cooking process is complete, the KRC-100 automatically switches to keep-warm mode. This keeps the rice warm at approx. 70 °C for up to 12 hours and then switches off for safety reasons.

IS THE STAINLESS STEEL INNER POT DISHWASHER-SAFE?

Yes, the uncoated stainless steel inner pot is dishwasher-safe. To maintain the surface shine long-term and prevent pitting caused by aggressive dishwasher chemicals, we recommend simple hand cleaning with lukewarm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge.

DOES THE RICE COOKER HAVE A SEPARATE ON/OFF SWITCH?

Yes, the KRC-100 has a separate on/off switch on the housing. This allows the power cord to remain plugged into the outlet while the device is completely switched off.

WHICH RICE VARIETIES CAN BE PREPARED?

You can prepare all common rice varieties in the KRC-100, including basmati, jasmine rice, Thai rice, sushi rice, sticky rice, round-grain rice, as well as brown and whole-grain rice.

Note on milk rice:When preparing milk rice, milk can easily boil over during cooking. It is recommended to always monitor the cooking process and, if necessary, use plant-based alternatives or water-milk mixtures.
