The housing is made of easy-care plastic and, thanks to its modern and timeless design, blends harmoniously into any kitchen. With a cooking capacity of up to 1.8 liters ( total 2.5 liters ), the rice cooker can serve 1 to 7 people. The ceramic pot Made of natural clay ceramic, the two ceramic lids are also uncoated and BPA-free . This means your food doesn't come into contact with plasticizers or other harmful substances. Cleaning is extremely easy; the ceramic pot and the two ceramic lids can be easily cleaned with water and detergent.
The rice cooker is designed for quick and easy preparation of all types of rice and other dishes. Thanks to modern fuzzy logic technology, the rice cooker operates energy-efficiently and with high precision.
The rice cooker is based on the functionality of the classic Japanese cooking pot, the so-called Donabe , made of heat-resistant ceramic.
The ceramic material of the pot heats up slowly and retains the heat for a long time . The double lid with vent holes ensures the right internal pressure and prevents boilover . Even pasta, potatoes, rice pudding, and very starchy rice are no problem.
The ceramic pot can be used without the rice cooker casing for baking bread in the oven or for cooking meals over a gas stove or camping stove. The clay pot is suitable for gas stoves, ovens, and open flames —but not for induction, ceramic, or cast-iron hobs.
Conventional rice cookers usually have an aluminum inner pot with a coating made of various materials. This coating wears off over time, and scratches can cause small particles of the coating to come off and, in the worst case, end up in the rice. In contrast, a ceramic pot doesn't need to be replaced even after years of normal use, as the material is very robust and the coating can't come off. The investment in our rice cooker pays for itself after about one year of use, as there's no need to buy a replacement pot. The slightly higher purchase price for a rice cooker with a ceramic pot makes more ecological sense, as it has a very long service life .
Easy operation is achieved via the touch control panel with illuminated display, ergonomically located in your line of sight on the top of the device. On the back of the device is an ON/OFF toggle switch for completely turning the device off.

3D Heating Technology
By simulating firewood, the rice in the uncoated ceramic pot retains its original flavor and moisture. The rice becomes aromatic, soft, and thus develops its full flavor.

THE SECRET IS THE POT
The rice cooker is based on the functionality of the classic Japanese cooking pot, the so-called donabe, made of heat-resistant ceramic.
The pot's ceramic material heats up slowly and retains heat for a long time. The double lid with vent holes ensures the right internal pressure and prevents boilover. Even pasta, potatoes, rice pudding, and very starchy rice pose no problem.

FACTS ABOUT THE CERAMIC POT
Fired, uncoated clay ceramic, BPA-free. Made from all-natural materials: kaolin (porcelain clay), quartz sand, feldspar, mica, lava clay, spodumene mineral, and mountain ore. Fired at approximately 1200°C.
After the first firing, known as the bisque firing or rough firing, our pottery undergoes a glaze firing. This glassy coating is not only decorative—it also serves a functional purpose. Once the bisque firing is complete, we are left with a porous and rough clay pottery in its natural state. Glazing is what makes the pottery waterproof—a fundamental prerequisite for using pottery as a ceramic tableware or ceramic vase. The different colors develop during the firing process.

BAKING BREAD IN A CLAY POT
The clay pot can also be used for baking bread in the oven. On a gas grill or gas stove, the pot can also be used directly over the gas flame.

ENERGY SAVING
The KCC-280 is extremely energy-efficient. For example, in the Quick Rice program, the multicooker consumes 0.2 kWh of electricity for 30 minutes of cooking time. At an electricity price of EUR 0.40 cents per kWh, this is just EUR 0.08 cents. Thanks to the built-in fuzzy logic temperature sensor, the KCC-280 optimizes power consumption. The clay pot stores heat very efficiently and distributes it evenly to the contents (rice).

Optional ceramic steamer insert
An optional ceramic steamer insert is available for the KCC-280 rice cooker. It has a capacity of 2 liters and fits on the inner pot of the KCC-280. For steaming, the large outer lid is placed on the steamer insert. Rice can be prepared and steamed simultaneously. Like the pot and lid of the KCC-280, the steamer insert is uncoated and contains no hazardous substances.

Bamboo rice spoon
We decided early on to replace the usual plastic rice spoon with a sustainable solution.
The included rice spoon is made of naturally produced bamboo. The bamboo is not treated or varnished. It should be oiled regularly with a vegetable oil such as olive or coconut oil.

MEASURING CUP MADE OF POLYPROPYLENE
The included measuring cup is made of polypropylene (PP). This material is BPA-free and is also used for baby bottles, for example. The measuring scale is 160 ml. The cup is dishwasher-safe. It's ideal for measuring the same amount of rice and water every time.

WE THINK ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT
Almost all Cookinella materials are fully recyclable at the end of their life cycle: glass, stainless steel, plastic, bamboo, and the recycled cardboard packaging.

Not only looks good -The KCC-280 also makes fantastic rice
The clay pot makes the rice fluffy and airy. This is KeMar's best rice cooker yet. I used the white rice program with organic Reyhani rice.
