If you have different vegetables you want to steam, this is no problem, although the cooking times will vary. Potatoes need about 30-35 minutes, asparagus 20 minutes, and broccoli about 15 minutes in the steamer.

To achieve optimal steaming results, first place steamer basket 1 with the vegetables—in this case, the potatoes—on the steamer and start with a 35-minute cooking time. After 15 minutes, place steamer basket 2 on the steamer, this time with the asparagus. After another 5 minutes, place the final steamer basket, 3, on the steamer. After the cooking time is up, all three vegetables are cooked through and ready to eat. Enjoy.
