Is the steam insert dishwasher safe?

Yes, the steam insert made of high-quality polypropylene is generally dishwasher safe.

• Care tip:To keep the smooth plastic surface supple over the long term and to prevent fading caused by aggressive cleaning salts and dishwasher tabs, we recommend simple cleaning by hand with lukewarm water, a little mild dish soap, and a soft sponge.
• Dishwasher note:If you clean the steam insert in the dishwasher, it is best to place it in the upper rack to protect it from excessive heat from the lower heating coils.

Can rice be cooked and food be steamed in the steam insert at the same time?

Yes, you can cook rice in the bottom and steam food in the steam insert at the top of the KeMar KRC-110 simultaneously.

• How it works:The steam insert is simply hooked onto the rim of the inner pot. While the rice cooks in the water, the rising hot steam simultaneously cooks vegetables, fish, poultry, or dumplings in the steam insert – saving both time and energy.
